I have been looking up from my sea palace, watching Odysseus on his long journey home. I have watched him as he has made so many mistakes, but he has come up with some good lies to cover himself. That’s until he and his men went to my sons cave. I over heard Odysseus’s men say that all they wanted to do was take the rams and other stuff from my son. Instead of agreeing with the men to just take the stuff he decided to stay and see what my son looked like. I was shocked because all through the journey, all Odysseus did was take things from people. The people he stole from either didn’t know or they found out and punished him somehow. All I am doing down here is watching to make sure he doesn’t hurt my son.“I, Poseidon, promise that if he hurts my son I will do what it takes to get revenge. It has been several hours, maybe even days that Odysseus and his men have been in the cave. All of a sudden I see a ship with Odysseus and his men. Then out of nowhere my son comes out of his cave and I can see that something happened to him. Odysseus starts to taunt him and he gets him really angry. This makes me very upset with him. My son gets so mad that he throws a boulder at Odysseus. This just made me want to go out and get Odysseus for my self; I was so aggravated. Polythemus then asked me to make it hard for Odysseus to return home. I did just what he said. I did what my son wanted because I don’t like it when someone hurts my children. I will do what it takes to help them with what ever happened. When he started out again I gave him a few hours till I was to “attack.” I started off with some small storms then I came out with the big one. He got what was coming to him. None of this would have happened if he never stayed in the cave. Ya, he shouldn’t have wanted to stay and he shouldn’t have came to steal from him. It’s been twenty years and I have still been trying to do what Polythemus wanted me to do. It has been hard because everything I have done he has passed. He is almost home now and I have succeeded on making it hard for him to get home.
